On October 26, 2026, Park Hyun-do, a professor at Sogang University and a recognized expert on Middle Eastern and Islamic studies in South Korea, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Seoul and met with Ahmad Erfanian, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Korea. Professor Park holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from the University of Tehran and is an active scholar in the field of Middle East studies in South Korea. In addition to his academic and research activities, he serves as a policy advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and as an expert with the Middle East Research Group at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP). During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the academic, scientific, and cultural fields, as well as opportunities to expand exchanges between academic and cultural institutions in Iran and South Korea.
